A threat to development

Globally, there are more and more well educated people, able to do more and more sophisticated things, and at the same time there are more and more uneducated and ignorant people. This polarizing trend has a tremendous impact on social, political and cultural life on the planet. Saying that education is a key to development, we could likewise say that ignorance and the lack of education is a threat to development. This is well documented in facts and figures in all aspects of human development. Education must be defined as a main task in order to develop conditions of life and to build a future where peace and well-being can be attained. And it is accessible. It is a matter of priority and it is a matter of more people, organizations and institutions with resources defining the need for education as their concern.
